• 188 lots of modern and contemporary paintings and sculptures from various artists make up this auction. holds the Latin American Art Auction twice a year, the first edition of 2023 will take place on Thursday, May 25th in the Candiles Hall of the Club Naval Norte, in Mexico City.

As on other occasions, the lots that make up this auction have been part of important public and private collections that have strengthened the roots of art history and culture in Latin America.

For the third consecutive year, the work of Mexican artist Gunther Gerzso is among the most important works in the auction and this time a painting of abstract style titled "Naranja-Azul-Verde" stands out, as well as two oil paintings on canvas by the Durango painter Ángel Zárraga, one of which is the cover of the catalogue.

Works by Mathias Goeritz and important Latin American creators such as Fernando Botero, Manuel Pailós and Fernando de Szyszlo are also present. Woman painters also have a presence with Bridget Tichenor standing out, whose artistic production has broken sales records at auction, as well as the works of Nahui Olin and Loló Soldevilla.

In addition, there will be three sections dedicated to artists and collections: 6 paintings that belonged to the Eppens family, 7 sculptures that were part of the "Libertad en Bronce" project and finally a section dedicated to the production of Mexican calendars from the late 20th century.

The Latin American Art Auction will feature 188 lots, which can be enjoyed in the exhibition free of charge and open to the public. It will be open from Saturday, may 20th to Wednesday, may 24th, at the same location where the auction will take place on Thursday, may 25th, in the Candiles Hall of the Club Naval Norte at Fernando Alencastre 310, Col. Lomas de Virreyes in Mexico City, during the following hours:

• Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 • Monday to Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

• Cocktail: Tuesday, may 23rd, starting at 6:00 p.m. 

• Auction: Thursday, may 25th, at 5:00 p.m.
