Zeitgeist Gallery LLC santelmoauctions@gmail.comBird and his house, made of wood, leather and recycled metal by the artist David Klauser. David works with obsolete objects that he rescues from his useless condition. He brings them back to life, he cuts, welds, fuses, and with all those parts he creates "creatures" to which he gives a new meaning. To create, he moves away from new materials, and looks for them to come from somewhere, with a history behind them, as if they had several previous lives. His “assemblies†are made up of parts of objects, or wood that he finds on the river bank, in the street, or those that people donate to him. Thus, the assembled animals of him constitute a particular fauna, which he defines as the "beautiful loser", which coexist with the "rabid toys", bodies and heads of dolls that refer to a universe that comes from comics, cartoons. of the grotesque. Monsters, mutants, bestialized humans, humanized animals. A focus on the wild and the natural. His childhood was a mix between growing up in nature surrounded by animals: rabbits, roosters, dogs, and the painting, music and theater classes he was taken to as a child. But the big turnaround was when he accompanied his brother to enroll in the San Isidro Polyvalent Art Center (C.P.A.S.I): he completely abandoned his desire to study mechanics and enrolled there. Later, he continued his studies of Fine Arts at I.U.N.A, Antonio Berni School of Visual Arts. He is a professor of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, although he currently does not practice. One day, he decided to put aside the gallery circuit and the formality of the suit and tie and went to live on an island in the Delta. He was there, of his own free will, for almost six years, he built a 9-meter-high wooden house for himself, and he stopped painting. Until he felt that it was time to move on and he moved to Córdoba. With a nomadic spirit, he returned to Tigre, and today he is working in his workshop. A place full of objects that are stacked here and there. “I like to carry things, stack them, and see them as 'junk Legos', a lot of old stuff, it's visual poetry, everything can tell something,†he says. He works in groups and individually, exhibiting in different spaces and situations: Borges Cultural Center, Palais de Glace, Arroyo Gallery, Código PaÃs, C. C. Konex, MODENA, Casa FOA, Recoleta Cultural Center, Bs. As. Design, MAT tigre, Arte Espacio, Espacio Cetol, Puro Diseño, Expotrastienda, EGGO, Estilo Pilar, San MartÃn Cultural Center, Gallino Museum (Uruguay), Lino Eneas Spilimbergo House Museum and Caraffa Museum (Córdoba). In the Borda Cultural Center, the National Congress, the National Hall and cultural spaces throughout the country (Chaco, Entre RÃos, Corrientes, Mendoza, San Luis, Misiones, Ushuaia). Since the year 2000, he has not stopped producing in his workshop in Tigre, and he is devoted to art.
