Art Deco wall mask Beswick Marlene Dietrich. It has the stamps and markings on the back. Perfect condition without restorations. Origin England Circa 1930. Art Deco style. Marie Magdalene Dietrich (Berlin, December 27, 1901 - Paris, May 6, 1992), better known as Marlene Dietrich, was a German actress and singer who also adopted American nationality. She is considered one of the most eminent myths of the seventh art, and also as the ninth best female star of all time according to the American Film Institute. John Beswick Ltd, formerly JW Beswick, was a ceramics manufacturer, founded in 1894 by James Wright Beswick and his sons John and Gilbert in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. [1] In 1969, the company was sold to Doulton & Co. Ltd. The factory closed in 2002, and the John Beswick brand was sold in 2004. The pottery was primarily known for producing high-quality porcelain figurines, such as farm animals and Beatrix Potter characters, and has become highly sought after on the collectibles market. . The pronunciation of Beswick is as it is read, Bes-wick. This information was from employees who worked at the original Beswick factory.
