Lot Description

This salt is by Parks Boyd who worked in Philadelphia from 1795 -1819. His work is well thought of. The salt is 2 _" high. Even though this piece is unmarked, it was definitely made by Boyd because of his use of interchangeable parts from signed Boyd pieces. There is beading at the top and bottom of the salt. This is typical of early Philadelphia pewter. Many times the bowl is corroded from salt but this piece does not have that problem.
