- Lot Description
World War II U.S. Navy Pilot's Archive, including flight jacket with patches, squadron insignia, two "Blood Chits" and leather named wings to Lieutenant W.L. Pattillos, USNR. Leather US Navy flight jacket with C.B.I patch, painted P.B.M patrol bomber squadron patch, and sewn into the lining two different "Blood Chits," one in Chinese with nationalist flag; the other in seven different languages with U.S. Flag; Lieut. Pattillo's leather flying helmet and goggles; a spare leather pilot's wing named to Lieut. Pattillos; Lt. Pattillos' sterling U.S.N Pilot's Wings with clutch back Fasteners; a pair of sweetheart U.S.N Pilot's Wings; a pair of cap sized (1.5 inches) Navy Pilot's Wings by LGB; a Navy officers's badge for overseas cap, by H+H; Lt Pattillo's ribbon bar from WWII showing American Defense, Asian Theater, and WWII Victory medal ribbons; a collins machete in sheath; Lt Pattillos wartime diary, with lost of information about training, fellow officers, duty stations, and patrols, including comments on victory in the pacific; Lt. Pattilos flight log, including over 60 war patrols, along with qualification on several different types of flying boats; a large medal from the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands honoring WWII veterans who served there, on neck ribbon; a scarce Camp Dallas medal for efficiency in box; Lt. Pattillos dog tags; an apparently gold and enamel Sunset high school ring with Pattillos initials engraved on the inside; a high school athletics pin; a large box of photos, a variety of other small books and documents. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $120.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
Jacket is very good with wear to mouton collar; flight helmet has 2 broken straps; goggles are missing one lens; machete is very good, but sheath has small hole near tip; wings, books, booklets are very good and better; photos are all very good.
