- Lot Description
A very nice officer's "Ike" jacket, with patches for China, and ribbon bars including Distinguished Flying Cross with oak leaf cluster, and Air Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters, as well as combat service in both the Asiatic-Pacific and the European Theaters of War. The jacket is complete with 20th Air Force patch, fine officer's collars, and embroidered Major's oak leaves, and a later Navigator's wing. There is also a "Flying Tigers" commemorative wing marked :1942," along with a large Flying Tigers patch, and an original China-Burma-India patch; Bronze Star Medal on slot brooch, unnamed; 11 "Tank Destroyer" patches, all original numbered to 1st, 2nd, 2ndd with "Hell on Wheels,: 4th, 6th, 8th, 12th, 13th, 779th Battalions; an Aviator's Medal group including a slot brooch Distinguished Flying Cross with oak leaf cluster, a wrap brooch Air Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, American Defense Medal, American Campaign Medal, the European Theater Medal with 2 stars, Victory Medal, Occupation Medal, the dog tags of George H. Stone, a monogrammed silver match safe with his initials, his ribbon bars, and several small souvenirs, including a Royal New Zealand Air Force cap badge.

Condition
Mostly excellent. The Tank Destroyer patches have some wear, and several have been removed from uniforms. Witherells strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
