- Lot Description
World War I uniforms, some on mannequins:
US Army "Black Cat" Division Officer's Uniform, consisting of wool serge tunic with bronze US and Infantry badges on collar,, gilded 2nd Lieutenant rank bars on shoulders, in-country made 81st Division patch on left shoulder over a white "A" on a blue and red circle, along with a bullion embroidered service chevron on each sleeve, with ribbons for Mexican Service and WWI Victory on breast, along with officer's jodhpur trousers, tucked into brown leather laced riding boots, with nickled officer's spurs, a brown leather "Sam Browne Belt,"and a canvas US marked shoulder bag with the name "Ben Jr." inked onto it, and a custom made officer's overseas cap with an 81st Division patch and 2nd Lieutenant's bar on it.
Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $ 88.00 plus 1.5% replacement and insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
An exceptionally nice World War I enlisted overcoat, complete and excellent;
A knit scarf in mustard green wool, over 5 feet long, excellent;
A knit "stomach warmer," matching the overcoat, with some minor mothing;
A superb US steel helmet of the 27th Division, with painted insignia to the front, excellent liner very good chin strap, retaining instructions for use label;
Condition
As described: Officer's uniform tunic is excellent. Jodhpur trousers are very good. Boots and Sam Browne belt are dry, sword hanger is torn. Overseas cap is very good plus. Overcoat is excellent, as is the muffler. The stomach warmer is slightly mothed. Steel Helmet is excellent. Witherells strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
