Scarce 1906 experimental Cavalry Saber, made by the Ames Sword Company, with sheet metal guard, and longer leather covered grip. The blade is in VG+ condition, with some finger rust, but is well marked and will clean very well. The grip is worn, showing some wood through the original sharkskin. The wire is intact. The guard is rusty. The scabbard is incorrect, appearing to be an1860 light cavalry saber scabbard missing its throat.
