U.S. Congressman George W. McCrary (1835-1890) Imperial Carte DeVisite, Brady Studios. Marked verso, "Imperial Carte DeVisite / by / Brady, / National Portrait Galleries / 785 Broadway, New York / and / 352 Pennsylvania Avenue / Washington, D.C." Please note he is seated in a similar if not the same chair as that being offered in this auction. Dimensions: 5.75"h x 4.25"w. Provenance: Congressman and U.S. Secretary of War George Washington McCrary (1835-1890) thence by direct family descent to the current heir. George Washington McCrary was a four term Congressman from Iowa as well as the Secretary Of War in the cabinet of President Rutherford Hayes. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $25.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
