A near mint Civil War era U.S. Medical Officer's sword with the exceptional blade, oral in cross section, deeply etched blade in brilliant condition. Scabbard is all brass and both suspension hooks are still attached to upper ring. Blade has boldly etched "E. Pluribus Unum" eagle and U.S., but not medical staff. The hilt has the silver letters "M.S." on the crossguard. The reverse has a french proof mark. There are no maker or retailer marks visible on the blade. Dimensions: 34.25 inches long and blade 30 inches long. Processing and shipping with in the continental U.S. $55.00 plus replacement cost insurance.
