The rain god figures have historically been sold at Teuque Pueblos for the tourist trade since the 1880s. These figures are differentiated from others by their bowls which are for collecting rain. Other Teseque deity figures represent hunger, pain, or other personifications. These figures developed from a very old tradition of creating hollow ceramic sculpture.Ì_
