- Lot Description
Two framed watercolor on paperboard depictions of the Louisiana bayous. Both are signed and dated (one dated 1904, other is difficult to read) lower right. Both bear small label verso, "Smart & Wilton, S.F." Dimensions: (sight) 10.75"h x 5.75"w; (framed) 14.25"h x 9.25"w. Straus began his career as a scene painter in St Louis, New Orleans and Chicago before moving to San Francisco due to health problems. He opened a studio and began painting scenes of Yosemite, Marin, Monterey and Oregon. He died in California. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $45.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
