San Francisco Wells Fargo Bank history wood display panel focusing on the life of Adolf Sutro (1830-1898). The display panel, using prints from negatives, is from one of the bank's earlier history exhibits, circa 1940s. From top to bottom, right to left: 1) Las Vegas, 1904, 2) First flight over the Sierra Nevada mountains, 1922, from Mather Air Field, Sacramento to Carson City, Nevada, 3) family picnic, 4) Virginia City smelter, 5) Adolf Sutro bond to help finance the Sutro Tunnel at the Comstock Mines, 6) Reno Engine #11, Crown Point trestle at Gold Hill, ca 1870s, 7) C St., Virginia City after the Washoe Casino roof collapsed due to snow, ca 1890, 8) Barney Oldfield driving peerless Green Dragon, ca 1910, 9) opening of Sutro Tunnel.
