Patriarchs Militant (Uniformed Ranks of the IOOF) society or lodge sword. Established in the U.S. in 1841, it is a branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Having a globe shaped pommel with button cap, leather wrapped grip wrapped in brass wire with the grip ferrule in the shape of a crown. Pax aut Bellum is found on scabbard and on blade. Blade is decoratively etched and monogrammed. J.M.Litchfield & Co / San Francisco Cal. etched on blade. Provenance: Estate of Paul Bull (1923-2012). Dimensions: (blade) 30"l; (overall) 37"l.
