- Lot Description
Antique percussion single screw lock Kentucky rifle. Tiger-stripped maple stocked Kentucky rifle, lock marked "Warranted," percussion, single screw lock, brass mounted, iron, open sights. Barrel appears to be blackened, no name visible, octagonal. Drum conversion, c. 1830. Dimensions: 57.5 inches long overall. Barrel is 43 inches. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $105.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
Stock is very good, some of the tiger-striping is worn off. The toe of the butt has some minor damage, and is missing a small piece of brass and a little wood. The engraving on the lock is hard to read because of pitting and patina. The barrel is black. The bore is rough, and there is a crack in the for-end, but the wood seems sound. Witherell's strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
