- Lot Description
Romanian Order of Aeronautical Virtue, 2nd class, with swords, 2nd award bar and rosette (Ordinul Virtutea Aeronautica). This is the very rare 2nd class or Officer's class of the Order of Aeronautical Virtue, with swords as awarded for action in wartime. It is from the reign of Ling Michael I of Romania, who ruled from 1927 to 1930 and 1940 to 1947. He sided with Germany during World War II. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $25.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
This order is in extra fine condition. The ribbon is slightly soiled, and the 2nd award bar and rosette show some wear. The order itself is superb. It has King Michael's cipher on the front center, and the date "1930" on the reverse. Witherell's strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
