A very fine oil painting of Heidelberg, presented to General Anthony McAuliffe on his retirement, by the Burgermeister and citizens of Heidelberg, April 28, 1956. The painting shows Heidleberg from across the river, with a bridge in the left foreground, and the citadel of Heidelberg in the center. There is a brass plaque on the frame that details the presentation, and it is accompanied by a copy of a New York Times article describing the ceremony on General McAuliffe's retirement and his family's departure from Heidelberg.
Note: this painting is consigned directly from the collection of General McAuliffe's daughter.
