- Lot Description
Antique pair of Italian made miguelet lock pistols for North Africa, not perfectly matched, circa 1750. Two very similar miguelet lock pistols, engraved locks and turned designs at muzzle. Wooden stocks and brass mounts are probably North African made. Some fine wire inlay on stock. One pistol has wide brass barrel band. Both pistols have ramrods, one steel, the other wooden. Dimensions: one pistol is 15 inches long, the other is 13 inches long. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
Very good condition, with dark brown patine to locks. These are not a match pair, although very similar, and purchased as a pair from a Louisiana Museum. There are small silvers of wood missing from the forends of each on one side. Witherell's strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
