A very handsome New England militia musket, with a slightly fish bellied stock, steel mounts, and the number 88 on the barrel. There is a maker’s name on the lock plate, which includes the letters AS, another letter that is not legible, and then an E, as well as a few other illegible letters. There is a bayonet lug, and the bore is 80 caliber. The mounts are all steel, which is unusual, but strongly suggests all Colonial manufacture. The ramrod is steel. Dimensions: The barrel is 41.25 inches long, and the gun overall is 58 inches. Processing and shipping within the U.S. $105.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
