This is an extremely nice Ames box lock pistol, with the desirable date of 1843 on both lock and barrel. The metal is clean, with very strong marks, including N.P. Ames, Springfield Mass., and USN 1843 on the lockplate, and USN 1843 over JCB and P on the barrel. The stock is also clean, with a small oval cartouche on the sideplate area. Dimensions: 12 ½ inches long overall, with the barrel being 6 inches long. Processing and shipping with the continental U.S. $25.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
