- Lot Description
An interesting World War II in the Pacific grouping of Joseph W. Sabin, officer, U.S. Army. It includes his Model 1902 Officer's Sword by Horstmann,a Model 1917 Bolo that has had a handsome macrame loop and knot decoration added to it, and a Clinton shock-proof watch that he wore on Saipan, Okinawa, and in the occupation of Japan.
Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $ 62.00 plus 1.5% replacement and insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
Condition
The sword has a bent guard, and hilt and scabbard are rusted, and the scabbard is dented, but the blade is about excellent. The bolo is missing its scabbard, and has been intentionally blackened for combat. Markings are still visible: U.S. Model 1917, and Plumb, Phila. 1918 on the other side. It has macrame knot-work added to provide a better grip and a loop for the wrist. The watch is complete with its band, but is not functioning. Witherells strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
