Framed Max Weber (1881-1961) oil on canvas still life painting, "Pears on a Book". Circa 1908. Signed lower right, "Max Weber". Bears Maxwell Galleries, San Francisco label verso as well as hand written label, "21 Pears". Dimensions: 13.12"h x 19"w; (overall) 20"h x 25.87"w. Weber was born in Russia but moved to Brooklyn New York. He worked in a Modernist style but was heavily influenced by Braque and Picasso. Provenance: Estate of Edward and Hermine Azhderian, Carmel, CA. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $68.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
Some wear to frame with minor discoloration over inner fabric lining. Coarse craquelure over surface.
