- Lot Description
Samurai Sword Shin Gunto, 1944 type. This is a Japanese "shin gunto" made for military use, circa 1944. It is a Katana, or Samurai sword, in metal scabbard, with iron tsuba, brown cord wrapped grip, with a safety catch at the ferrule. The blade is in grease, generally clean, with no damage. Dimensions: 38.5 inches long overall. Blade is 27 inches long. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
Very good to excellent. The blade is still in grease, the scabbard retains most of it's paint, and the grip is excellent. Witherell's strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
