Antique Italian made North African Camel Musket, Miguelet, Circa 1700. Especially well made miguelet lock musket, with barrel and breech made in Italy. Barrel marked "Lazari Cominuz". Lazaro Cominazo was the most famous Italian gunsmith of the 17th century. The trigger guard and breech are beautifully made and engraved in a manner similar to wheel lock guns of the earlier period. The miguelet lock has a pierced fence, and more detailed parts than are usually seen. The barrel has a swell at the muzzle, and brass barrel bands. The ramrod is steel, and there is a steel panel that extends from the breech about 18 inches up the barrel. There is a saddle ring on the side. Dimensions: 67.5 inches long.
