A superb Parang Nabur Indonesian saber with blade of Kilij form. This is a scimitar-like saber with a large cutting blade, 1 1/8 inches wide at the guard, but 1 3/4 inches wide towards the point. The blade has three fullers and some simple engraving. On the ricasso is a square with letters in it that resemble runes. The brass guard is ornately shaped with large quillon that is pierced with swirling leaf designs. The grip is almost mameluke shaped with fine checkering and a wide brass ferrule. The balance of the sword is exceptional, despite the very wide blade. The sheath is wood, missing a section along the edge. It has simple brass mounts with carrying rings. The wood is cracked, but still sound. Overall length is 28 inches, blade is 21 inches long. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $65.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
