Howard Cook (Mass., 1901-1980) limited edition print of one of the wall murals he painted in the San Antonio Federal Courthouse. Signed in the matrix lower right. He painted the mural over a two year period, finishing in 1939. There were a total of 16 murals detailing the highlights of Texas history including cattle drives. Cook was awarded this commission over 84 other artists. He was a well known WPA artist as well as an illustrator for Harpers, Atlantic Monthly and Forum magazines. Dimensions: (print) 8.75"h x 11.87"w; (overall) 13.75"h x 16.75"w. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $45.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
