- Lot Description
Howard Cook (Mass., 1901-1980) limited edition print of one of the wall murals he painted in the San Antonio Federal Courthouse. Signed in the matrix lower right. He painted the mural over a two year period, finishing in 1939. There were a total of 16 murals detailing the highlights of Texas history including cattle drives. Cook was awarded this commission over 84 other artists. He was a well known WPA artist as well as an illustrator for Harpers, Atlantic Monthly and Forum magazines. Dimensions: (print) 8.75"h x 11.87"w; (overall) 13.75"h x 16.75"w. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $45.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
Slipping in frame and appears to have old tape verso. Small losses at edges. Toning overall. Verso, toning with some "Paper burn" secondary to prior framed. Please see photos.
