This doll is hand carved and painted. multicolored with red and white feathers, leather fringe and tiny woven rope. Jonathan Day is a known Kachina authority who makes and sells Kachinas and an author of Traditional Hopi Kachinas: A New Generation of Carvers.Ì_
The Snake Dancer is not a Kachina but a society personage. There are many such dolls carved in the Kachina manner such as the Butterfly Girl and the Mountain Spirit Dancer of the Apache.Ì_
