Hopi Moon Kachina, "Hòlolo-Muyao" by Elmer Adams. Dimensions (overall): 9". Provenance: Purchased on Ebay from David Parker, Carlsbad, CA. $175. 11/17/11.
This Kachina is finely hand carved and painted. Artist signature, title and date on underside of base. This Kachina is seldom carved. There are two types of Moon Kachina. This one is called Muyao and is identified by the crescent shape on the forehead. Third Mesa Hopi claim the origin of this Kachina.Ì_
