Hopii Cow Kachina, "Wakas" by unknown artist. Dimensions (overall): 10"h. Provenance: Purchased on Ebay from Joe Tuzzolina, Buena Park, CA. $39. 09/24/14
Hand carved and hand painted on cottonwood root. Decorated with yarn, leather, feathers, fabric and beads. The Wakas is a messenger spirit to the rain gods. He prays for crops and grasses for the animals and is a symbol of self sacrifice.Ì_
