Hopi Clown Kachina, "Hano" by Leroy Jim. Dimension (overall): 13"h. Provenance: Purchased on Ebay from Jan Fellez, Marana, AZ. $300. 06/26/11. Ì_
Hand carved, hand painted. Artist signature and title on underside of base. This engaging Kachina doll embodies the ridiculous, gluttonous deviancy of Hopi clown behavior. He is decorated with leather straps and soft, downy fur for hair. He is shown eating watermelon while, nonsensically, removing his boot. Note the watermelon juice making a mess on his face, belly and the base. Included is the original price sticker ($1325).Ì_
