Chasing Star, "Nangasohu" by Henry Shelton, Third Mesa. Dimensions (overall): 12.5"h. Provenance: purchased Ebay, Pizzazz Jewelry and Gifts, Portlandville, NY. $1,699. 07/14/11.
This Kachina is hand carved and hand painted by renown artist Henry Shelton. Decorated with double toned feathers, colorful yarn, beads and a small, functioning metal bell. Artist signature and place of origin on underside of base as well as a thorough description by former owner. Artist Henry Shelton Kachinas are in the collection of the Brooklyn Museum.
