Hand carved by renown artist Henry Shelton,this doll was put to the side and much later found by his grandson Philander, who then finished, painted and decorated the doll with striped feather, cotton string and leather straps. Henry was son of Peter Shelton, Kachina carver. His brother is Peter Shelton Jr., also a carver. This is a truly remarkable Kachina collaboratively made by a remarkable family of artists. Both artist's signatures on underside of feet.
