Gustav Stickley oak leather top lamp table, #626. Craftsman label affixed on underside. Original finish. Dimensions: 40" diameter x 30.25"h. Gustav Stickley was born to German immigrant parents. He and his brothers started a furniture company in Pennsylvania. After trips to England and Europe, he embraced the Arts and Crafts Movement for its simplicity of construction and finishes. In 1901, he started the Craftsman Magazine with a Syracuse University professor. He then changed the name of his company to The Craftsman Workshops.
