- Lot Description
3 Death Cards, one for a Guard Grenadier who was killed on the 5th day of the Somme, one for a man of a junker family killed at Arras, the last for an Austrian killed in 1914, all excellent; a remarkable German photo album chronicling a German Field Artillery Battery with many identified photos of officers and men, some showing medals and decorations, as well as group photos, action photo, a photo of a damaged French tank, photos from Verdun, the Battery Mascot dog, men in the hospital, artillery pieces, and a few from home. This is possibly a unique collection to this unit, and is in excellent condition; a group of 16 loose Imperial German "real photo" postcards, all military, some showing artillery, some of men with decorations, all VG+; a group of 11 pieces of Imperial German paper currency, VG.
Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $ 25.00 plus 1.5% replacement and insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
Condition
The Death Cards and photo album are excellent, the postcards are VG and better, and the currency is all VG. Witherells strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
