General Anthony McAuliffe grouping of jewelry and insignia, including an original pair of General McAullife's parachute "Jump Wings;" a sweetheart pin sterling Jump Wing with gold star; a sterling sweater pin of Jump Wings and U.S. Army eagle; 2 tiny pairs of sweetheart Jump Wings; a pair of sterling Jump Wing earrings; a pair of Generals stars; a miniature Glider pilot's wing in sterling; enameled lapel pins of the ribbons and the Distinguished Service Cross (2) and the Distinguished Service medal with Oak Leaf cluster; a pin-back 101st Airborne pin, sized like a D.I.; a smaller enameled 101st pin; a half-track tank destroyer collar insignia; a large enameled "Bastogne Remembers" pin back badge, 1944-1969; a Vietnam era Air Calvary pin, probably in-country made; a sterling miniature Generals star and a "101" lapel pin. Also a boxed 10k gold filled West Point 1919 brooch for a lady, by Kinney of Providence Rhode Island. General Anthony McAuliffe was one of the Commanding officers at the Battle of the Bulge, Bastogne during World War II. He famously responded, "Nuts" to the German Army's offer to accept the Allies' surrender. Provenance: Estate of General Anthony McAuliffe thence by family descent.
