- Lot Description
General Anthony McAuliffe sterling cuff bracelet with "USMA" in raised intertwined letters (United States Military Academy). Engraved "Anthony Clement McAuliffe, Class of 1924." Engraving spans both sides of open cuff (please see photos). Marked on interior, "Dieges & Clust/Sterling". General Anthony McAuliffe was one of the Commanding officers at the Battle of the Bulge, Bastogne during World War II. He famously responded, "Nuts" to the German Army's offer to accept the Allies' surrender. 1.12"w x 1.75". 1.7 ozt. Provenance: Estate of General Anthony McAuliffe thence by family descent.
