Framed Frederick Carl Frieseke (1874-1939) watercolor on paper depicting a seated young woman. Signed lower left, "Frieseke". Dimensions: 9.75"h x 7.87"w; (overall) 19.25"h x 16.75"w. Provenance: Estate of Edward and Hermine Azhderian, Carmel, CA. Frieseke was a leading American Impressionist who specialized in the depiction of women. The model was frequently his wife. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago as well as Whistler's Academie Carmen in Paris. He spent many summers at Giverny, the one of Claude Monet.
