Handwritten Document on Church Hierarchy and canon law circa 1470. A single sheet, folded, front and back, on vellum, with illuminated first letters, beautifully written, with some lines in red ink. The document is in Latin and is apparently on the hierarchy of the Catholic church, and on aspects of canon law. This is of particular interest, as it was written at the time Luther was preaching and dealing with these very subjects. It has also been suggested that the text of the fragment is Candelabrum of Bene Florentinus, rhetoric not canon law and may be easier that the fifteenth century. Dimensions: 8.86 inches by 5.5 inches. Processing and shipping in the continental U.S. $25.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
