- Lot Description
This is a 3 generation archive of the Peterson family from Portland, Oregon, and Spokane, Washington, including diaries of Carl Peterson, who served in the 85th and 219th Aero Squadrons in World War I, his son Robert, who served in the 15th Air Force in World War II, and Robert's son who served in the US Navy. It includes a very handsome squadron patch from WWII showing a hand of cards with a Joker first, along with a 15th Air Force patch, a dog tag, various identification cards, and many other items of paper and various small items, and Carl's World War I discharge, all enclosed in a nicely made wooden box with a liner made from a car oil advertisement from the 1950's. The diaries cover both World Wars, including many interesting details of Army life in an Aero Squadron from Kelly Field to France.
