- Lot Description
Framed Edme Bouchardon (French, 1698-1762) chalk drawing depicting a male cooper making a barrel. Monogram "E.C." lower left. Dimensions: 9.5"h x 7.12"w; (overall) 14.75"h x 12.5"w. Bouchardon was known both as a sculptor and for his drawings. He won the Prix de Rome in 1722 and drew many of the sculptures and fountains in Rome. He was a master at turning three dimensional mass into line. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $40.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
Two faint horizontal creases lower third of drawing, few areas of foxing left upper and right lower quadrants. Did not examine out of frame.
