Documents and letters of U.S. Army pilot G.W. Hayes from World War I and later. An amazing and significant group at documents including a action report October 26, 1918, detailing how Hayes shot down two German planes over Dun-sur-Meuse, even though his plane's engine was failing. There is also his May, 1918 discharge for promotion to 2nd Lieutenant, his commission as Lieutenant. Colonel from 1947, capture documents for 2 German pistols and several camera lenses from 1945, and two personal letters from a French woman to Hayes dated 1950. Also a bolo tie center in agate with a French made Air Corps badge on it and a memorial booklet containing several snapshots, his obituary, and a copy of his death certificate. Dimensions: As folded, 8 inches by 5 inches. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $25.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
