Framed David Howard Hitchcock (1861-1943) oil on canvas, "Painting Near Pearl Harbor". Signed and double dated lower right, "Hitchcock 1910", "1900" (below). Dimensions: 16"h x 26.6"w; (overall) 19.5"h x 29.75"w. Maxwell Galleries, San Francisco label verso. Born in Hawaii, Hitchcock was known as Hawaii's resident artist, especially in plain air painting. He studied under Jules Tavernier along with Joseph Strong. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $68.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
Coarse craqueluere over surface, greatest lower half of painting. Approximately .25" loss of paint center, in water area. 3" x 3" area of discoloration canvas verso (upper portion).
