Framed Daniel Ridgway Knight (1839-1924) watercolor depiction of a young peasant woman, basket in hand, walking at river's edge. Signed lower eight, "Ridgeway Knight copyrighted". Dimensions: 13.75"h x 9.5"w; (overall) 22.5"h x 18.5"w. Provenance: painting was a gift to Mrs. Norman Alfred Kuhn on November 24, 1887 then through family descent. Ridgway Knight is known for his depiction of serene peasant women doing daily chores or near water's edge. He enjoyed studying the depiction of various light throughout the day and even built a glass enclosed room in which to paint. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $50.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
