This Kachina is intricately hand-carved and hand-painted. Artist signature and title carved on underside of decorated base. The artist shows the Monongya with gourd rattle and bow in anticipation of his duty as a fighter of clowns. Joshevama is a relatively young artist whose work is gaining acclaim and attention. It Ì_is reminiscent of the old masters such as Calnimptewa and Coolidge Roy in its attention to detail and realistic figuration. His work is well regarded by many sellers such as the Monongya Gallery in Old Oraibi and is sure to increase in demand.Ì_
