- Lot Description
Carved wood folk art cane with Civil War battle and corresponding war heroes' names carved throughout the length of the cane. Engraved metal top reads, "This cane was cut from the battlefield of South Mountain, Maryland and carved by Lewis B. Nyman of Boonsboro, Maryland and was presented by Mrs. Lewis B. Nyman of Hagerstown, Md to Howard S. Nyman of Washington, D.C. 1913." The upper portion of the carving reads, "The Heroes and Battles / 1861 / 1862 / 1863" and verso, "In the War for Union / 1864 / 1865." 38"l. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
