A very interesting unmarked sword and scabbard with hilt and scabbard apparently of German silver, with a straight, un-engraved blade that has been service sharpened. It has a bird’s head pommel, and two branches to the guard. The grip is brown leather, with two strands of brass wire wrap. The toe of the scabbard is a separate piece of iron that has been attached to the scabbard. The blade has a single fuller, and is completely unmarked. There is a screw attachment with a piece of leather on the underside of the guard, possibly for a sword knot. Dimensions: 33 inch blade and 40 inches long overall.
