- Lot Description
Civil War carpet bag with Union Officer cdv. Handwritten in ink on interior: Lieutenant S. Oaks, , 1st Maine Artillery who was killed in action at Hatcher's Run, 3/25/1865. Dimensions: 13"h x 16.5"w. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $40.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
Condition of bag is in good shape but the handles have significant wear and are separated from bag at one end. Some fraying and loss of stitching at opening and on sides of opening. Lining has some tears and fading. Please see photos. Witherells strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
