Unframed platinotype, Red Sack (Wojuha Luta) Oglala Lakota at Pine Ridge, S.D., by Frank A. Rinehart. Titled lower left, No. 1638 lower left, "Copyright 1900/F.A.Rinehart/Omaha" lower right. Frank Rinehart was selected to be the Official Photographer for the Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition in Omaha in 1898. The Exposition was to highlight the achievements of Western expansion and an Indian Congress was created. Rinehart was the only photographer granted access to the Congress. After the Exposition he travelled around the United States to photograph those Indian tribes he had missed. Image: 7.37"h x 9.25"w. Sheet: 7.87"h x 10"w.
