Framed Charles Sprague Pearce (1851-1914) oil on canvas portrait painting, "Brittany Woman". Signed lower right, "Charles Sprague Pearce". Bears Maxwell Galleries, San Francisco label stretcher bar verso. Also, handwritten informational label stretcher bar verso. Handwritten notations on frame verso. Dimensions: 22"h x 18.25"w; (overall) 29.5"h x 26"w. Provenance: Estate of Edward and Hermine Azhderian, Carmel, CA. Pearce was born in Boston but moved to Paris to study with John Singer Sargent. He painted mainly portrait and genre scenes and was especially drawn to the Northern region of France. He remained in France and died there. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $105.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Please note we do not accept credit cards.
