- Lot Description
11 Austro-Hungarian Flying badges, both Franz-Josef and Karl, all enameled on bronze, pin back, in very good to excellent condition, one of which is marked, Mortsanyi, Budapest, Esku. Uts,"; 6 Austrian Flying badges with green enamel on bronze, with blank shields at the bottom, and separate enameled pieces for attachment. There are 55 of the separate pieces included, but unattached, VG+; a very handsome newer Austrian Republic Flying badge in green enamel on a gilt wreath, excellent; an Austrian Naval Flight badge, probably for an Observer, excellent, World War I era; beautiful gilt brass Hungarian wing badge, pin back, excellent; 2 large round badges with crowns, one with a dragon, the other with lightning bolts, for Austrian Aviation Air Crew, one is marked on the reverse: "J. Zimbler, Wien VII," excellent; an Austrian Flight wing in bullion embroidery, excellent; a Hungarian Pilot's badge, VG, but pin is broken; an Austrian cloth wing, good; and an interesting bronze badge with a red and white checkerboard design between two wings, VG+.
